Classic Juice Co. started in my grandmother’s kitchen in Jamaica, where food was medicine and every remedy came from the earth.

She taught me that hibiscus cools the body, ginger heals the belly, and the right blend of roots, fruits, and herbs can transform how you feel from the inside out.

I brought those traditions to Toronto and built a company around them. Every bottle we make is raw, cold-pressed, and crafted in small batches in our East York kitchen — using the same Caribbean wellness wisdom that has nourished generations.

Meet Tamara

I’m Tamara Shelly — founder, juicer, and a first-generation Canadian born to Jamaican immigrant parents.

I started Classic Juice Co. in 2014 with three handcrafted blends and a simple belief: what you put in your body changes how you show up in the world. Today, we offer over 50 cold-pressed flavours, from traditional Caribbean recipes like our Jamaican Sorrel to innovative wellness blends like Blue Spirulina Sea Moss.

We opened our flagship location in Toronto’s East End in 2018 and have since served over 80,000 customers and sold more than 500,000 bottles — built almost entirely through word of mouth.

Our mission is to make the powerful effects of raw, natural juice accessible to everyone — with no preservatives, additives, dyes, artificial sweeteners, or added sugar. Ever.

Where It All Began

Before Classic Juice Co. existed, there was a health crisis.

I was diagnosed with PCOS — a condition directly influenced by diet. When I asked my doctor for a natural approach, I was told there was nothing natural I could use. I was shocked.

Growing up between Toronto and Jamaica, I’d experienced my grandmother’s natural remedies firsthand. On the island, where medical systems are limited, food is medicine. I knew there had to be another way.

My research led me to the practice of Ancient Chinese Medicine, whose core belief is: “Good health begins in the stomach.” I learned that the best way to absorb nutrients is to consume food in juice form — and cold-pressing keeps every healing property intact.

As my diet improved, everything changed — my energy, my mood, my relationships. I wanted others to experience the same transformation. That’s when Classic Juice Co. was born.
